David & Margaret Bereit40 Days for Life & Marriage Ministry
David Bereit started and led the global 40 Days for Life movement through its first decade, building it into the largest grassroots pro-life mobilization in the world. Through its network of more than 2,000 local leaders and 750,000 volunteers in 769 cities across all 50 American states and 50 nations, 40 Days for Life has helped to save 14,643 children’s lives, bring 177 workers out of the abortion industry, and close 96 abortion centers. David recently stepped away from his role as CEO of 40 Days for Life to pray and plan for a new ministry project, which has yet to be announced.
Margaret Bereit is a seasoned educator, with more than two decades of experience teaching in public elementary schools, homeschooling her own children, instructing at a homeschooling co-op, tutoring other children, and teaching religious education. Margaret is heavily involved in her parish, coordinating Eucharistic Adoration, serving as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, serving on the Stewardship Committee, starting a moms’ Bible study, leading a Confirmation team, and serving as an adult leader for youth ministry activities. Additionally, Margaret volunteers at a local food pantry, serving community members in need.
Together, David and Margaret have led marriage preparation programs, conducted relationship classes, developed and led marriage enrichment programs, and spoken extensively on topics of faith, life, and family to audiences across the United States and internationally. The Bereits have been joyfully married for 26 years, are the proud parents of two children, Claire and Patrick, and live in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
